Photography Exhibition at the Santuario di Maria Santissima di Custonaci

“Saint Francis of Assisi—Emotions of the Man” will display at the Santuario di Maria Santissima di Custonaci.

Each photograph has a specific frame which holds the photograph and light fixture. There are 10 such frames for the 10 photographs.

“Showing photographs reflecting the life of Saint Francis of Assisi in the Santuario di Maria Santissima di Custonaci is an honor and a priviledge. I thank Don Nino and the people of Custonaci for allowing this show to happen in May of next year” said Lorenzo The Santuario di Maria Santissima di Custonaci was built in the second half of the 16th century. It is know for the unique and elegrant geometrical and floral patterns of small river pebbles which pave the entrance to the church.

The Madonna di Custonaci, is a painting of the 15th century which shows the Virgin Mary breast feeding the baby Jesus. “The photographs are a wonderful representation of Saint Francis of Assisi and we would like Lorenzo to come back in October to do another show” said Don Nino.

Dott. Carlo Toni, the Mayor of Poppi, Italy and the town council, have invited Lorenzo to show The Mask Trilogy Photographs in the Guidi Castle in Poppi, Italy on May 1-6, 2023.

The Exhibition titled, “Saint Francis of Assisi—Emotions of the Man” display photographs that are measured 7’2” (214 cm) X 5’3” (153 cm).

Each photograph has a specific frame which holds the photograph and light fixture. There are 10 such frames for the 10 photographs.

“I am honored and excited to show the photographs reflecting the life and emotions of Francesco Bernardone (Saint Francis of Assisi) from the age of 22 to 44 in the Guidi Castle in Poppi” said Lorenzo.

The Guidi Castle was built in the year 1000 and probably was visited by Saint Francis of Assisi who lived during the period of 1182 to 1226 in the Tuscany area.

“We are pleased to show Lorenzo’s representation of Saint Francis of Assisi as it will bring tourists and local citizens to visit our wonderful town and its Castle” said Mayor Carlo Toni.

The photographs are part of The Mask Trilogy created by Lorenzo, which includes the historical, fictional novel, “Secrets of the Carsarians”, and photographs and poems in the book “The Anthology and Poetic Musings”.

Lorenzo has imbedded clues into the novel, photographs, and poems as to where he hid the death mask of Saint Francis of Assisi. 

The game is called The Mask Trilogy Adventure Game and the goal is to find the location of the mask.
