The Mask of Assisi is hidden somewhere in the world and if you decide to try and find it, you will be on a literary and visual adventure.

The mask’s last known location was the Schönbrunn Palace, Vienna, Austria, on November 5, 1805.

After years of researching about the Mask of Assisi, the author found the clues that led him to where the mask is located. He has always enjoyed a good mystery, treasure hunt, and adventure, so he decided to leave the mask where he found it and developed a game for others to see if they can find the location of the mask.

How to play

This is not a video game, it’s an old-fashioned treasure hunt. The “treasure” is the location of the death mask of Saint Francis of Assisi, as portrayed in the novel, Secrets of the Carsarians.

 

Read the Story

Find the Mask Location

Solve the riddles, decipher the hidden messages, and uncover all of the clues, to reveal the exact location of the Death Mask of Saint Francis of Assisi.

 

Secrets of the Carsarians

Secrets of the Carsarians is about the death mask of Saint Francis of Assisi made surreptitiously by two clerics in 1226. Within the novel are hidden clues as to where the mask is located.  It is a tale of risk, adventure, romance, and reflection that takes place over 500 years of history.  

In this fictional novel, you will meet historical figures, of which many became guardians of the Saint Francis of Assisi mask. 

The mask is protected by an underground society of women called the Carsarians™, who pledge to guard and protect the mask as it travels through history.

The Companion

As you read Secrets of the Carsarians, you will experience historical scenes, classical paintings, objects of invention and many historical and fictional figures.

The Companion book, based on Secrets of the Carsarians has many beautifully rendered scenes and maps from the novel, all created by artist Stephen Harrison.  It additionally has portraits of many of the figures in the novel, including some of their paintings and inventions.

The Companion follows the 10 parts of the Secrets of the Carsarians so that you can easily follow the story as it unfolds.

The Anthology and Poetic Musings

Reimagined photographic scenes out of the life of Francesco Bernardone before he was given the title of Saint Francis of Assisi.  These photographs are designed and directed by Lorenzo, an artist who has been waiting to release his creative ideas for many years.  A selection of the photographs in The Anthology and Poetic Musing contains hidden clues as to the location of The Mask of Assisi.

The Poetic Musings are in a narrative form in which each musing tells a story that contains a hidden clue to help the reader find the location of The Mask of Assisi.
